- Duration mode: enter a start time and an end time to find the total hours and minutes between them. Overnight shifts are handled automatically. If the end time is earlier than the start time (for example, 10 PM to 6 AM), the calculator adds 24 hours to give the correct 8-hour result.
- Add Time mode: enter a starting time and hours/minutes to add. Useful for finding when a meeting ends, when a timer goes off, or when a delivery window closes. The result wraps past midnight if needed.
- Subtract Time mode: enter a reference time and hours/minutes to subtract. Useful for finding what time to start a task to finish by a deadline, or how far back in time a given duration takes you.
Example: shift from 11:45 PM to 7:30 AM = 7 hours 45 minutes (7.75 decimal hours). The calculator detects the overnight crossing and computes it correctly.
