Age Calculator

2. Set the target date. This defaults to today's date. Change it to calculate age on any specific date, whether past or future. Useful for checking age at a wedding, retirement, or historical event.
3. Read your results. The calculator shows exact age in years, months, and days, plus total counts in weeks, days, hours, and minutes. For birthdays, it also shows how many days until the next one.

The calculator accounts for leap years automatically. A birthday of February 29 correctly advances to February 28 in non-leap years when calculating exact current age.

Age is the difference between two dates, calculated in complete years, months, and days. The tricky part is that months have different lengths, so the calculation has to account for that at each step.

Years = Target Year - Birth Year (minus 1 if birthday hasn't passed yet)

Months = Target Month - Birth Month (adjusted for day of month)

Days = Target Day - Birth Day (adjusted for month length)

Example: Born June 15, 1990. Target date April 14, 2026. The birthday (June 15) hasn't passed yet in 2026, so the year count is 2026 - 1990 - 1 = 35 years. Working backward from June 15 to April 14 gives 9 months and 29 days. Final age: 35 years, 9 months, 29 days.

In total days: that's 35 × 365.25 (accounting for leap years) plus the remaining months and days, giving approximately 13,088 days lived.
