Volume Converter

2. Switch freely between cooking and scientific units. The converter handles teaspoons and tablespoons for recipes up to cubic meters for tanks and engineering applications.
3. Compare all units simultaneously. All fields remain visible, so you can see liters, gallons, and fluid ounces at the same time without toggling.
4. Use decimals for partial amounts. For 2.5 gallons, type 2.5 in the gallon field. For half a cup (0.5 cup), type 0.5 in the cup field.

Example: a recipe calls for 1 cup of milk. Type 1 in the US Cup field to see: 236.588 mL, 0.236588 L, 8 fl oz, 16 tbsp, 48 tsp, 0.5 pt, 0.25 qt.

All conversions use liters as the base unit:

Value in liters = Input × toLiters factor
Result = Value in liters ÷ toLiters factor

Cooking hierarchy (US): 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon, 16 tablespoons = 1 cup, 2 cups = 1 pint, 2 pints = 1 quart, 4 quarts = 1 gallon. A US gallon is 3.785 L; a UK imperial gallon is 4.546 L, about 20% larger.
